UVM Announces Hiring of Kellie Campbell as Chief Information Officer

The University of Vermont is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Kellie Campbell as Chief Information Officer. A broadly experienced academic IT professional, creative problem-solver and engaged listener, Campbell will assume leadership of the university's Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) division beginning February 6.

"This is an exciting time to bring an energetic and collaborative new leader to UVM, especially with new technologies rapidly emerging and important IT projects underway on campus," said Interim President Patricia Prelock. "Kellie will be an excellent partner for all of us and a strong leader for the ETS team."

Campbell comes to UVM from the Vermont State Colleges System (VSCS), for which she served as Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Technology. Reporting to the Chancellor and working in close partnership with the VSCS Council of Presidents, Campbell provided leadership, management, and strategy for the Information Technology (IT) shared services division.

She joined Vermont Technical College in 2019 and helped shepherd the transformation of the VSCS by leading the launch of the system's first shared services organization and supporting many efforts to successfully consolidate and launch Vermont State University.

Campbell holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration and management and received her Doctor of Education in Higher Education through Northeastern University. She has extensive experience in project and change management, strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management, and is a leader in system and digital transformation.

A native of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, she lives in Georgia, Vt., with her husband, Anthony, and two children.

Interim President Prelock expressed gratitude to the UVM search committee for its diligence and positivity during this critical search, and sincere thanks to Interim Chief Information Officer Darcy Pientka and Vice President for Finance and Administration Richard Cate for stewarding ETS through its period of leadership transition.
