Myanmar Defence Attaché meets Defence Secretary

Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Brigadier General Zaw Moe Lwin paid a courtesy call on the Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), at the Defence Ministry, today (25 September).

Following a warm reception, the Defence Secretary held a cordial discussion with the Myanmar Defence Attaché.

During the exchange of views, the mutually supportive relations existing between the two countries, especially in the defence cooperation and training spheres, were taken up for discussion.

Brigadier General Lwin expressed appreciation for Sri Lanka's timely intervention in extending humanitarian support during the earthquake that shook his nation earlier this year, acknowledging it as a symbol of the enduring friendship and mutual respect between the two countries.
