Chinese Ambassador to Slovenia Kang Yan Meets with the Mayor of Ljubljana

On March 10, 2026, Ambassador Kang Yan paid a courtesy call to Mr. Zoran Janković, Mayor of Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. They exchanged views on strengthening experience exchange in urban governance, advancing sister-city relations, and expanding cooperation in economic, trade and cultural fields.

Ambassador Kang spoke highly of Ljubljana's achievements in ecological conservation and green development. She briefed the Mayor on the ongoing Two Sessions of China and the draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development. She expressed the hope that Ljubljana will continue to follow China's development, further explore the potential of sub-national cooperation, and give a stronger boost to China-Slovenia relations.

Mr. Janković noted that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Ljubljana and Chengdu. Both sides will organize a series of celebratory events to deepen friendship and cooperation.
