Rosen-Backed Russia Sanctions Bill Signed into Law

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, released a statement after the bipartisan Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act, a bipartisan bill to crack down on the energy and defense sectors funding Vladimir Putin's violent war in Ukraine, was signed into law. Senator Rosen was an original cosponsor of this legislation and voted in support of its passage in the Senate.

"This bipartisan bill to sanction Russia and crack down on the funding sources for Putin's brutal and illegal war has been a long time in the making, and I'm glad to see it signed into law today," said Senator Rosen. "Ukraine is at a critical point in its courageous fight to defend its sovereignty, and this bill gives the United States more tools to support our allies. Putin's war is not a threat to Ukraine alone - it is a threat to Europe and to us. We must help stop Putin in his tracks and end this war, and this bill gives the United States powerful tools to do so."

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Rosen has consistently supported Ukraine in its fight against Russia's war of aggression. In August, she helped introduce bipartisan legislation to provide critical munitions to Ukraine and encourage NATO allies to increase defense contributions. Senator Rosen has also voted for every security assistance package for Ukraine, the last of which passed in December 2024 at the end of the Biden Administration. Earlier this year, she introduced the bipartisan Strategic Unmanned Systems Partnership Act to strengthen U.S.-Ukraine defense cooperation to co-develop and co-produce drones and other unmanned systems.
