USDA Announces Availability of Low-Interest Physical Loss Loans for Producers Affected by Natural Disasters

Physical loss loans through the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) can help producers repair or replace damaged or destroyed physical property essential to the success of the agricultural operation, including livestock losses. Examples commonly affected property include essential farm buildings, fixtures to real estate, equipment, livestock, perennial crops, fruit and nut bearing trees, and harvested or stored crops and hay.


Impacted Area: Tennessee, Alabama
Triggering Disaster:
Disaster Number 1 (N1951): Severe winter weather including high winds, freezing temperatures, and ice that occurred January 24 through January 28, 2026

Application Deadline: March 29, 2027
Primary Counties Eligible:
• Tennessee: Bedford, Moore
Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:
• Tennessee: Coffee, Franklin, Lincoln, Marshall, Rutherford


Disaster Number 2 (N1952): Severe weather including a tornado and high winds that occurred on March 15, 2026
Application Deadline: March 29, 2027
Primary Counties Eligible:
• Tennessee: Giles, Lawrence
Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:
• Tennessee: Lewis, Lincoln, Marshall, Maury, Wayne
• Alabama: Lauderdale, Limestone
