Budrys: Lithuania will remain a strong voice in Europe, driving the security and defence agenda forward

On 25 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys was sworn in at the Seimas and began work within the 20th Government. The new Minister emphasized that during this geopolitically challenging period, ensuring national security and strengthening ties with strategic partners remain among the key priorities of Lithuania's diplomacy.

"The main task of diplomacy is to effectively represent and defend the interests of our country. Lithuania will remain a strong voice in Europe, pushing the security and defence agenda forward. We will strengthen our strategic partnerships with the US, Germany, and Poland. We will continue to support Ukraine because it is there that the fate of the security of Europe as a whole is decided," said Budrys.

The Minister also underlined that special attention will be given to the issues of economic security and economic diplomacy.
