CHANDLER, Ariz. - Opening April 4 at the Chandler Museum, "Artists in Schools: America the Beautiful" will display art by students from the Chandler Unified and Kyrene school districts, created in partnership with four local artists. The exhibition will be on view through May 10.
Returning for its third year, the Artists in Schools program offers Chandler students an opportunity to work with professional artists from across the Valley. Four artists worked with over 400 students in four schools to collaborate on this special project. The resulting artwork displays the new skills, creative methods and thought processes the students learned with these teachers.
Inspired by the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, this year's projects were themed to celebrate the people, ideas and stories that bring us together and give us hope for the future of our country.
Join the artists for the opening reception of the exhibition on Friday, April 10 from 5-7 p.m. RSVP on Eventbrite.
"Artists in Schools: America the Beautiful" will be on display at the Chandler Museum, 300 S. Chandler Village Drive. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday 1-5 p.m.; Closed Monday. Free admission.
