New legislation, the Skill Savings Account Act, would create tax-advantaged accounts for education expenses, with CFP Board expressing support for efforts to strengthen workforce development. Erin Koeppel, Managing Director, Government Relations and Public Policy at CFP Board, noted the organization has not yet reviewed the bill but welcomed its focus, building on prior support for expanding 529 plan uses to include certifications.
