The University of Evansville (UE) will host the official launch of Evansville Bee City USA on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the main campus.
The event will celebrate the city's commitment to becoming more pollinator-friendly and will feature expert talks, local success stories, and interactive opportunities for attendees to learn how to support native pollinators in their own communities. Local businesses and organizations will also be present to showcase their work and connect with attendees.
"Hosting the launch of Bee City Evansville at UE is an exciting opportunity to bring together community members, organizations, and students around a shared goal of environmental stewardship," said Dr. Cris Hochwender, Professor of Biology. "This initiative highlights the meaningful impact that small, local actions can have on supporting pollinators and strengthening our ecosystem. We are proud to serve as a space where education, collaboration, and community engagement can come together to inspire lasting change."
The event is free and open to the public, though registration is required at this link.
