UNM Summer/Fall 2026 registration begins April 6

Registration for The University of New Mexico's Summer and Fall 2026 semesters begins April 6, following a phased rollout based on student classification and earned credit hours. The summer/fall Schedule of Classes is available for online viewing and planning.

Summer registration will open to all students on the first day of registration, while fall registration will begin with graduate, professional and continuing non-degree students, followed by undergraduate students in stages based on earned credit hours.

While registration dates have shifted slightly due to the academic calendar, the overall rollout structure remains consistent with previous years, prioritizing access based on academic progress. UNM is rolling out its registration April 6-10. Registration begins for the summer semester Monday, April 6 and is open to all students.

Registration continues through Friday, April 10 as follows:

  • Monday, April 6 registration for the fall semester gets underway for graduate, law, medical, pharmacy and non-degree, with a degree (continuing students).
  • Tuesday, April 7 - undergraduate students with 93 earned credit hours or more.

New incoming freshman or transfer students admitted for summer or fall, will register during New Student Orientation and advisement.

Students may also register any day / time after their registration date. Registration begins at 7 a.m. on respective dates.

Additionally, students are encouraged to schedule an appointment with their academic advisor through loboachieve.unm.edu in advance of their registration time.

Make sure proper payment is made on your bursar account. If a student has any holds on their account, they can register anytime after any holds that affect registration have been resolved.

There are no changes to registration tools this year, including College Scheduler, a schedule planning tool to create your ideal schedule. You can plan your schedule and register for classes in a single session. However, the university is evaluating potential updates to its student information systems that could introduce enhanced registration capabilities in the coming years.

One notable update for 2026 is a streamlined process for staff members who are also enrolled as students. Previously, staff were required to attend a session to request a registration PIN in order to access early registration. Under the updated process, eligible staff in good standing will now have the required access automatically applied to their accounts, eliminating the need for manual requests.

The Office of the Registrar is also continuing to review and improve registration processes to make enrollment more efficient and accessible for students.

Students are encouraged to review their earned credit hours, check for any holds on their accounts and plan their schedules in advance through my.unm.edu.
