As the nation marks the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, ORU honors Tulsa firefighters and law enforcement and extends gratitude and prayer for their service.
Tulsa, Oklahoma, September 11, 2026-Oral Roberts University (ORU) launched a citywide initiative-ORU Loves Tulsa-to recognize the people and organizations that serve and shape our hometown. ORU Loves Tulsa is a reminder for those serving throughout the city that their work matters, their contributions are valued, and they are loved.
Marking the 25th anniversary of September 11, ORU President Dr. William M. Wilson and administrative leaders visited Tulsa Fire Department stations and Tulsa Police Department divisions to thank local first responders for their courage, sacrifice, and faithful service. Across the city, ORU joined Tulsa's first responders in remembering the lives lost on 9/11, honoring the extraordinary courage displayed that day, and recognizing those who continue to protect and serve.
During the visit, ORU administrative leaders delivered donuts as tokens of appreciation, offered prayer, and made available a QR code through which first responders could submit confidential prayer requests.
The September 11 fire and police division visits mark the first in an ongoing series of planned outreaches that will recognize Tulsa schools, businesses, first responders, and community organizations.
ORU administrative leaders visited fire stations and police divisions-honoring their courage, their sacrifice, and the families who stand beside them.
