New Editor in Seoul

We're excited to announce that Bonnie Malkin is joining the Seoul news team as a senior regional editor, helping to direct coverage of Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Bonnie joins The Times from The Guardian, where she worked as Asia-Pacific international editor, running coverage of the region and managing a team of correspondents in Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, India and the Pacific. At the same time, she led a breaking news team responding to major events from Washington to London to Kyiv to Gaza and beyond.

Bonnie was also responsible for The Guardian's U.K., U.S., International and Europe websites in the Asia-Pacific time zone, coordinating a team of digital editors and working with the visuals and multimedia departments. She was instrumental in The Guardian's expansion strategy in the region, building new teams and audiences in New Zealand and the Pacific. Bonnie brings a depth of knowledge of the region and a love of digital strategy and news.

Earlier in her career, Bonnie worked for The U.K. Daily Telegraph in a variety of roles, including assistant digital editor in London, Australia correspondent and assistant international editor based in Sydney. She started her career at The Sydney Morning Herald.

Please join us in welcoming her to The Times!
