Brownley Sworn-In to U.S. House of Representatives

Washington, DC - Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-Calif.) released the following statement upon being officially sworn-in as the United States Representative for California's 26th Congressional District in the 119th Congress.

"It is a true honor and privilege to continue to serve the good people of California's 26th Congressional District. As we begin the 119th Congress, I remain steadfast in my commitment to fighting for the priorities and interests of America's hard-working families.

"I stand ready to work alongside my colleagues to continue delivering for our communities and upholding the core values of our democracy.

"We are bound together by the shared belief that all men and women are created equal and that the unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are at the core of our nation's founding. I will always defend these sacred rights that are fundamental to our democracy. And, I will continue to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to preserve our system of government - of the people, by the people, and for the people.

House Democrats passed legislation to combat inflation, reduce prescription drug prices, invest in clean, renewable energy, and lower energy costs for American consumers.
