Tuberville Secures Several Key Wins for Alabama in Latest Appropriations Bill

WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) issued a statement following his vote supporting the latest appropriations bill. The bill includes several key wins for Alabama.

"I'm proud that we were able to secure several big wins for Alabama in today's appropriations bill, including $500,000 for the Alabama Port Authority, $1.4 million to support law enforcement across the state, $3.5 million for water and sewer projects, and more than $4.4 million to help with critical waterway projects," said Senator Tuberville. "As long as I am Alabama's Senator, I will continue fighting every day to make sure Alabama is first in line for every opportunity."

BACKGROUND:

The appropriations bill passed by the Senate includes:

  • $500,000 for the Alabama Port Authority for the Study of Sediment Management in Mobile Harbor
  • $500,000 for the City of Enterprise to support law enforcement operations
  • $354,000 for the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office to support law enforcement operations
  • $325,000 for the Houston County Sheriff's Office to support law enforcement operations
  • $250,000 for the Wilcox County Sheriff's Office to support law enforcement operations
  • $2,900,000 for the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway and Black Warrior and Tombigbee Rivers Deepening Study
  • $1,000,000 for operations and maintenance on Fly Creek
  • $550,000 for Luxapallila Creek in Millport, AL
  • $3,500,000 for the City of Greenville Water Works and Sewer Board for Water Supply Augmentation
