ADVISORY - MONTGOMERY COUNTY - Governor Shapiro to Announce New Investment in Public Safety at Upper Moreland Township Building and Police Department

Governor Josh Shapiro will visit Upper Moreland Township Building to announce new investments in public safety through the Commonwealth's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP). The investment will support the extensive renovations and expansions to the police department and administrative spaces, equipping the department to better serve their officers and local community.

The Shapiro Administration has taken up a two-pronged approach to combat violence within the Commonwealth, by funding and supporting law enforcement personnel and investment in community violence intervention programs. Since taking office, violent crime has gone down 16%, and homicides have decreased by 39%.
