Rep. Robb Blasdel Appointed to State Emergency Response Commission

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel (R-Columbiana) was recently appointed by Ohio House Speaker Matt Huffman (R-Lima) to serve on the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC).

SERC aims to improve emergency planning and communications throughout the state.

"I appreciate the opportunity to serve on this important committee and advocate for the health, wellbeing, and safety of the 79th House District and state as a whole," said Blasdel.

SERC is made up of nine state agencies: Ohio Environmental Protection Agency; Ohio Emergency Management Agency; The Ohio Attorney General's Office; Ohio Department of Health; Ohio Department of Transportation; Ohio Department of Natural Resources; Ohio Department of Commerce, State Fire Marshal; Ohio State Highway Patrol; and Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Additionally, SERC has 10 voting members: two representing environmental advocacy; two representing industry trade association; three representing firefighting; and three representing local government/municipalities. Two members of the legislature serve as non-voting members.
