Hickenlooper: "While Coloradans pay a fortune at the pump, President Trump is making a fortune"
WASHINGTON - As gas and diesel prices soar in Colorado, new analysis from the Joint Economic Committee - Minority shows President Trump's personal wealth from oil and gas stocks has grown by as much as $35.8 million. This brings his net holdings in the sector to as much as $81.6 million and nearly doubles the oil and gas wealth the President held at the end of 2025. The Committee found that 94% of Trump's 2026 oil and gas stock purchases occurred after the war began, with Trump buying as much as $17.5 million in oil and gas stocks after February 28.
At a campaign rally in Georgia on Saturday, Trump acknowledged that Americans are paying higher prices, but brushed aside concerns about celebrating the oil industry's windfall. "My people said, 'Please don't mention that sir, because people are paying a little higher'," Trump said. "But I said I don't give a damn. I'm going to say it. We're making a freaking fortune."
"As gas and diesel prices soar, it's no wonder President Trump is bragging about making a ton of money. While Coloradans pay a fortune at the pump, President Trump is making a fortune," said Hickenlooper in a new video statement. "This is the most corrupt administration in American history. It's past time to end the President's disastrous illegal war with Iran and invest in clean energy to bring some badly needed relief to Colorado."
