Dayton, Ohio (May 6, 2026) - A prominent church property in Dayton is being offered for sale, presenting a unique opportunity for redevelopment while honoring its longstanding role in the community.
Grace United Methodist Church, 1001 Harvard Boulevard, plans to move to a new location nearby. The church is offering its property for sale, along the Salem Avenue corridor that connects northwest communities to downtown Dayton.
The 4.38-acre property includes more than 43,000 square feet across three interconnected buildings, including a cathedral-style sanctuary, a fully built-out daycare facility, and an activities building with a gymnasium as well as a fellowship hall.
The campus has long served as a gathering place for worship, education, and community events. As the congregation seeks to right-size its physical footprint, church leadership hopes the property's next chapter will continue serving the people of Dayton.
"The church has been a faithful steward of this campus for generations," said Rev. John Wagner, pastor at Grace Church, which has served in the current location for more than 100 years. "While this decision comes with deep reflection, our hope is that the property will continue to serve the Dayton community in meaningful ways for years to come."
The sanctuary building includes the main worship space as well as a lower-level banquet area, gathering rooms, chapel, offices, and additional meeting areas. A separate three-level education building is fully built out with classrooms, restrooms and reception areas, while the activities building houses a gymnasium with stage, commercial-grade kitchen, and gathering space.
With approximately 197 parking spaces and zoning that allows for a range of residential and community-oriented uses, the property offers significant flexibility for future redevelopment or adaptive reuse.
