Man arrested after hitting tavern

At 11:23 p.m. on December 20, Eugene Police responded to The Keg Tavern, 4711 West 11th Avenue after a Buick LeSabre reversed into a Volkswagen Passat then drove forward and almost struck a pedestrian, who was standing next to the building. The driver then hit the building and left the area.

An officer responded to the area near the driver's home. He heard a vehicle honk behind him and it fit the suspect vehicle's description. The driver, later identified as 39-year-old Zach James Dolan, turned into a cul-de-sac, and the officer contacted Dolan as he got out of the sedan. The officer gave him commands, but Dolan responded with an insult. Dolan continued to refuse commands, and named dropped some EPD personnel.

The officer was alone and Dolan was not responding to taser nor OC admonishments, so he deployed OC to take Dolan into custody. After further investigation, Dolan was arrested and transported to Lane County Jail. His charges include DUII, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Endangering, Reckless Driving and two counts of Hit and Run.
