Statement by President Meloni on the reform of corporate liability regulations

Today, the Council of Ministers approved a reform of the corporate liability regulations provided for by Legislative Decree no. 231/2001.

We are delivering on a commitment we made to this nation's businesses, introducing a cost-free measure that reduces the administrative burden on companies, especially the smallest ones; establishes clear rules for businesses; and makes it possible to safeguard business continuity and protect workers, who have nothing to do with any unlawful conduct by their employers yet risked facing unacceptable and irreversible consequences. Our message is clear: corporate liability cannot automatically turn into the criminalisation of companies.

This Government stands, and will continue to stand, alongside those who produce and create wealth and jobs in Italy and will keep doing its part to simplify the lives of those who, by rolling up their sleeves every day, contribute to making this nation great.
