Trust Nwaka, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, has been selected as a member of the 2026 American Chemical Society (ACS) Future Pharma Innovator Cohort. He is one of only 22 Ph.D. candidates chosen from the United States and Canada for the highly competitive program.

The ACS Future Pharma Innovator program recognizes exceptional emerging scholars who demonstrate strong technical achievement and a commitment to advancing careers in the pharmaceutical industry. Selection into the program is a mark of distinction, identifying participants as among the most promising young researchers in the field.
As a member of the 2026 cohort, Nwaka attended the ACS Fall 2026 Meeting, held Aug. 23-27 in Chicago. During the meeting, cohort members presented their research, engaged in scientific discussions and participated in networking opportunities with peers and industry professionals.
