City Staff Celebrate Accomplishments and Awards

The city is proud to recognize several outstanding team members whose leadership and service continue to make a lasting impact in Rancho Cordova.

Kim Juran Karageorgiou, previously the city's Administrative Services Director, has been promoted to Assistant City Manager. In this role, Kim will oversee Administrative Services (Finance and Human Resources), IT, Community Services, Risk Management, and citywide performance metrics. Her leadership and institutional knowledge will help advance key city priorities and support continued organizational excellence across departments.

The City of Rancho Cordova is also pleased to announce the launch of a new City department: Community Services. The department will be led by Megan Siren, who was recently promoted from Assistant to the City Manager to become the City's first Community Services Director. The Community Services Department will include the city's Facilities team, the Community Enhancement & Investment Fund program, Rancho Cordova Youth Center programming, and community partnerships (youth sports, arts, and education initiatives). Bringing these functions together will improve coordination and expand our impact in the community.

The City's Public Works team is also celebrating recent awards and achievements. Kristine Courdy, Principal Civil Engineer, was recently named Manager of the Year in the Engineering and Technology category by the Sacramento Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). Kristine joined the City in January 2021 and has since contributed to several key Public Works projects, including the Mills Crossing project, Sunrise Boulevard Phase Four, and the Chase Drive/American River Parkway Connection project.

Maria Lopez, Operations & Maintenance Manager, was also recognized as Manager of the Year in the Transportation category by the Sacramento Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). With more than two decades of service to the City of Rancho Cordova, she oversees the city's Operations and Maintenance Division, including transportation and solid waste management. As both a city leader and resident, Maria brings a unique perspective to her work, viewing each project as an opportunity to improve daily life in the community she serves.

"Each of these leaders has demonstrated a strong commitment to our organization and the community we serve. Their work continues to strengthen our ability to deliver high-quality services and support the city's long-term goals," said City Manager Micah Runner.

The City of Rancho Cordova congratulates all of these team members on their well-deserved recognition and promotions.
