On February 23, Consul General Qin Jie paid a courtesy call on Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Maharashtra, India.
Governor Devvrat extended his New Year greetings to the Chinese people. He noted that India and China are neighbors and both are ancient civilizations, and should coexist peacefully and amicably, enhance political mutual trust, and strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges. As important members of the Global South, the collaboration between India and China will lead and shape global development.
Mr. Qin said that since 2024, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China-India relations have continued to improve, with increased exchanges and cooperation in relevant fields. China's 15th Five-Year Plan emphasizes high-quality development, mutually beneficial and win-win expansion of openness, and sharing development opportunities with the world, especially neighboring countries. It is hoped that Maharashtra will deepen friendly city cooperation with China and promote China-India friendship to a new level.
