Sandbags Available For St. Pete Residents During Second Saturday Hours

January 9, 2025 - To help residents prepare for storms year-round, the City of St. Petersburg has added extra days for residents to proactively pick up sandbags during non-emergency times.

Sandbags are available on the second Saturday of the month at the year-round sandbag distribution location at the Pavement and Traffic Operations Building (1744 9th Ave. N.) - with the next event being Saturday, January 11, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

These extended hours allow for equity and accessibility for more St. Pete residents to pick up sandbags. The regular sandbag distribution location hours are Monday - Friday and the second Saturday of the month from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Second Saturday hours will continue until further notice.

Each household can receive a maximum of 10 sandbags, and residents must provide proof of St. Pere residency to pick up their sandbags. Staff will be on hand to assist seniors and others who may be unable to fill and load their own sandbags.
