Pumpkin painting, orchard tours, more at fall harvest celebration

Keiki, families and those with green thumbs can jump into autumn with crafts, guided orchard tours and expert plant advice at the Garden: Fall Harvest Event on Saturday, October 17, 9-11:30 a.m. at CARES Waiawa in Pearl City.

Hosted by Oʻahu Master Gardeners from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resilience, this free community event features tree-grafting demonstrations, mini-pumpkin painting, lauhala weaving, and vermicomposting workshops. Invasive species experts from the Oʻahu Invasive Species Committee and Hawaiʻi Ant Lab will also hold workshops.
