Student Animation Will Screen at MetroCAF Festival

A short animated film, "In Sprite Of It All" by Madelyn Killi '26 has been included in the student animation festival MetroCAF, and will be shown at FIT's Katie Murphy Amphitheater in New York City on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m.

Killi's short film was created in the spring as final project for AR-385: 2D Animation, taught by Wobbe F. Koning, MFA, professor in the Department of Art and Design. The story follows a young woman who is transported into the world of a classic 2D-style video game.

MetroCAF is the annual NYC Metropolitan Area College Computer Animation Festival organized by the New York City chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH. Over the past two decades, MetroCAF has provided an exciting opportunity for all students in the NYC metropolitan area to show their work not only to their fellow students, but also to industry professionals.

Killi graduated in the spring with a B.A. in Communication and a minor in Animation/Motion Design. Her film is available to watch online.
