M-80 culvert replacement in Chippewa County starts Oct. 16

KINCHELOE, Mich. - ­The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $300,000 to remove and replace a culvert on M-80 between South Gaines Highway and M-129 in Chippewa County.

Traffic restrictions:
M-80 will be closed and detoured between South Gaines Highway and M-129 beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16. Traffic will follow a posted detour on M-129 and M-28 to I-75. The detour is expected to be lifted Monday, Oct. 19, but intermittent lane closures will be needed after that for paving and other work. M-129 is now open, following the completion of a culvert replacement at Fletcher Creek.

Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support three jobs.
