Wyden, Merkley and Dexter Introduce Resolution to Honor 2026 Olympians and Paralympians from Oregon

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Ron Wyden, D-Ore., U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., and U.S. Representative Maxine Dexter, D-Ore.-03, introduced a resolution commemorating the achievements of the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic and Paralympic athletes from Oregon.

"Oregonians have shown their incredible dedication and skill in the Olympic and Paralympic Games," Wyden said. "These athletes deserve to be recognized for their successes, and so does everyone in their support networks who made it all possible. I am incredibly proud to introduce this resolution that commemorates the accomplishments of our athletes and their loved ones who have represented The Oregon Way on the global stage."

"A huge congratulations to Oregon's athletes who recently represented our country in the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games-you embody the best of America," Merkley said. "Go Team USA!"

"These talented and accomplished Oregon athletes exhibited the extraordinary potential of human achievement on the world stage," Dexter said. "This resolution, elevated by our entire federal delegation, celebrates and honors their athleticism, grit, and commitment."

Oregon had two athletes compete in the 2026 Paralympics and four athletes in the Olympics, with skier Jackie Wiles winning bronze in the inaugural women's team alpine combined event.

The resolution highlights their dedication, skills, and commitment to representing Oregon and the United States. It also recognizes the contributions of families, coaches, and support staff who played a vital role in these Oregonian athletes' success.
