Florida Blue Medicare’s HMO Plan receives a Medicare 4-Star Rating

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - October 14, 2025

Florida Blue, the state's leading health insurer, has received 4 out of 5 stars for its Medicare Advantage HMO plan for 2026, highlighting its commitment to providing quality health care and exceptional member experiences for Floridians on Medicare.

"We're thrilled to share that our Medicare Star rating has earned us 4 out of 5 stars this year," said Alisha Pieraccini, senior vice president of Florida Blue Medicare. "This achievement is a direct result of our team's unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care and service to our members. We're proud of this accomplishment and look forward to continuing to provide our Medicare members with access to high-quality care that meets their unique needs and exceeds their expectations."

Each year, Medicare measures the quality of care and customer service members receive from their Medicare Advantage or Part D plans, assigning each plan a Star rating from 1 to 5, with 5 being the best. Star ratings are based on 38 quality measures, which look at everything from, how well plans help their members stay healthy through preventive care to how members feel about using their plan and the service they receive.

Medicare has released the 2026 Star ratings just ahead of the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), which lasts from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7 every year. AEP is the time of year when people on Medicare can review and change their coverage. Star ratings not only help people shop for high-quality Medicare coverage during AEP but also provide high-performing plans with financial incentives to invest back into their Medicare health plans.

In addition to the HMO plan, Florida Blue's Medicare Advantage PPO plan and Part D prescription drug plan were also rated. Both plans earned a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

"Earning 4 out of 5 stars for our HMO plan is a significant achievement that underscores our commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our Medicare members," said Dr. Thomas Graf, chief medical officer for Florida Blue Medicare. "This rating is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our network providers, particularly our primary care doctors who partner with us to deliver coordinated, personalized care to our members. By working closely with our network providers, we're able to make sure our members receive the right care, at the right time, and in the right setting. This is where our HMO plan excels and why our Star rating improved."
