PSC to Hold Need Determination Hearing for Duke Energy Florida's Proposed Transmission Line

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a hearing beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, to consider Duke Energy Florida, LLC's petition for a determination of need for a proposed 230 kilovolt (kV) electrical transmission line in Central Florida.

The DeLand West-Dona Vista Project includes a new 26.5-mile transmission line extending from Duke's DeLand West Substation in Volusia County to its Dona Vista Substation in Lake County. As part of the project, Duke also plans to rebuild an existing 69 kV line along the same route.

The hearing is scheduled for the following time and location:
