Information and Networking webinar on Horizon Europe 2026–2027 Calls for R&I Cooperation with Greenland

On 6 March, a webinar organised by DG RTD and the EU Office in Nuuk was organised, aimed at explaining, promoting and discussing some Horizon Europe targeted funding opportunities under Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026/27 to increase Greenland's chances for successful participation in the EU R&Y Framework programme.

Over 60 participants from universities, research centres, innovative startups, in addition to other R&I actors from Greenland, Denmark, Norway and Iceland participated in the webinar.

The specific points covered during the webinar were:

  1. To provide some practical information and tips on how to apply to call for proposals under Horizon Europe, in particular how to set up a consortium, the eligibility and award criteria, etc.
  2. To present the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026-2027, with a focus on funding opportunities highlighting specific topics of particular strategic importance for the EU, Greenland and the region, such as on natural resources, climate action, energy, oceans and digital under Pillar II. The European Innovation Council (EIC) Work Programme 2026 and funding opportunities were also covered.
  3. To facilitate exchange, questions and networking among R&I stakeholders from Greenland and from EU Member States and countries associated to HE.

This initiative aimed to increase Greenland's participation and success in Horizon Europe, the flagship EU research and innovation framework programme.
