ST. LOUIS - Construction in fall often means a lot of busy, rapidly changing work zones as crews wrap up construction projects or prepare multi-year projects for winter. In addition, crews continue maintenance work on local interstates and highways. Maintenance work can mean slow moving work zones in lanes or on shoulders around the region.
Motorists are encouraged to wear their seat belts, pay attention in work zones, drive the posted work zone speed limit, and allow extra time for travel. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
For more on roadway closures due to construction, additional work zone information, and real-time roadway weather conditions, go to http://traveler.modot.org/map. For real-time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com.
