Dentons celebrates 16 consecutive years as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers

February 24, 2026

Dentons has been recognized as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers for 2026, marking its 16th consecutive year receiving the distinction. The longest tenure achieved by any law firm in the country, this recognition reflects the Firm's sustained commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA) and its ongoing focus on how those principles are meaningfully embedded across the organization.

"We're grateful for this recognition, which reflects work that has been carried forward with care and intention over two decades" expressed Tim Haney, CEO of Dentons Canada. "We continue to examine how our decisions, systems and ways of working support our people in meaningful ways. That focus strengthens collaboration and enables better outcomes for our clients and our Firm."

Dentons' approach to IDEA is grounded in the belief that different experiences, perspectives and identities strengthen the Firm and enhance how it serves clients. This work is embedded across the organization through close collaboration among leadership, IDEA, Talent and operational teams, as well as employee-led resource groups such as WomenLEAD, GLOW (the Firm's 2SLGBTQ+ affinity group) and the Black Professionals Network, which help inform and advance initiatives across the Firm. Together, these groups continually assess and evolve programs, policies and practices. From how the Firm attracts and supports talent to how it engages with clients and communities, IDEA principles are woven into the way Dentons operates and grows.

Advancing trans and gender diverse inclusion

In 2025, Dentons advanced its commitment to equity and belonging through the launch of its Trans Inclusion Policy, representing an evolution of the Firm's existing approach to supporting trans and gender diverse individuals. Building on established practices and benefits, the policy was developed through a cross-functional, firmwide initiative and informed by consultation with Pride at Work Canada and engagement with the Firm's internal 2SLGBTQ+ affinity group, GLOW. The policy focuses on embedding inclusion across policies, systems and everyday processes and is supported by targeted training, learning resources and practical tools, reinforcing shared accountability for creating a workplace where people feel safe, respected and supported.

Recently recognized for the fourth consecutive year as one of the Top 100 Employers in Canada and named one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People for 2026, Dentons continues its efforts to build a workplace where inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility are fundamental to how the Firm supports its people and clients. Ongoing work to strengthen programs, policies and employee networks supports professional development, fosters belonging and helps create an environment where people feel safe, supported and able to bring their authentic selves to work.

Canada's Best Diversity Employers recognizes employers across Canada that lead the nation in raising the standards for inclusiveness in workplaces, creating a place at the table for everyone.
