The University of Toledo's Division of Enrollment Management is inviting prospective students and their families to take a trip around the world of UToledo during Campus Crawl on Friday, July 24.
The outdoor summer festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Campus and will give future Rockets the opportunity to explore UToledo through interactive academic experiences, student life activities and opportunities to connect with the Rocket community.
Guests will collect passport stamps while visiting stops across campus and can enjoy food trucks, games and activities along the way.
Campus Crawl will include:
• Hands-on academic and student life experiences
• Opportunities to meet faculty, staff and current students
• Interactive activities and giveaways
• Food trucks on Centennial Mall
• A chance to explore campus and experience life as a Rocket
Students interested in health-related programs also can participate in a special Health Science Campus experience from 10 to 11 a.m., with check-in beginning at 9:30 a.m.
As an important part of the event experience, UToledo faculty, staff and students are encouraged to help create a welcoming and energetic atmosphere for prospective students and their families throughout the day.
"We know that coming to campus impacts students' decisions and can be a real difference maker in their college search," said Dr. Tony Bourne, vice president for strategic enrollment management. "Combining the energy of a great event with the welcoming spirit of our campus community helps students picture themselves at UToledo. Showing our personality, creating a warm environment and being a helpful resource for students and families truly sets us apart."
Faculty, staff and students can support the event by:
• Wearing UToledo gear or blue and gold to show Rocket pride
• Offering directions or assistance to visitors around campus
• Greeting guests and helping create a welcoming atmosphere
• Sharing what they enjoy most about being part of the UToledo community
"Campus Crawl is one of the best ways to experience what makes UToledo special," said Heather Lutz, director of enrollment events and visits. "Students have the freedom to explore campus at their own pace, participate in interactive experiences, meet the people who will support them and get a true feel for life as a Rocket."
Guests are encouraged to arrive and check in by noon to allow plenty of time to enjoy the event. Check-in will be available at three convenient locations: the Thompson Student Union bus loop, the McMaster Hall bus loop, and the intersection of North Tower Drive and Stadium Drive.
Prospective students can register for Campus Crawl at utoledo.edu/admission/campus-crawl.
Parking will be available in Areas 1N, 1S, 10 and 13.
The event is primarily outdoors, though campus buildings will be open throughout the day. Attendees are encouraged to dress comfortably and prepare for summer weather conditions.
