July CFP Exam Turnout Sets Record
CFP Board reported that 3,621 candidates sat for the July 2026 CFP® certification exam, making it the largest July testing cohort on record, with a 66% pass rate. According to the post-exam survey, candidates said their top motivations for pursuing CFP® certification were demonstrating their expertise (39%) and distinguishing themselves as fiduciaries (33%), while nearly two-thirds received financial support from their employers during the certification process.
