BakerHostetler Team Represents Woodruff Sawyer in Sale to Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. for $1.2 Billion

Partners Tony Roehl and Lori Bibb led a team that included Associates Madison Alexander, Katie O'Brien and Brittany Schwabe as they represented independent insurance brokerage and consulting firm Woodruff Sawyer in its sale to Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., a public global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services firm, for $1.2 billion. The deal closed April 10, 2025.
San Francisco-based Woodruff Sawyer provides a full suite of commercial property/casualty products, employee benefit solutions and risk management services, focusing on middle and large market clients. The sale will expand Illinois-based Gallagher's presence in the West Coast market.
Other team members who assisted on the transaction include Partners Craig Carpenter, Brian Harris, Thomas Hogan, Numan Siddiqi, Stefan Smith and Matthew Wochok, Counsels Jon Knight and Meagan Moore, and Associates Tanner Daniels, Colson Ginger, Jeffrey Liskov, Jarret Mendoza and Miranda Owens.
