A special arrival marks the opening of The Baby Place at AdventHealth Winter Garden

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - It's a boy! There was no better way to celebrate the opening of The Baby Place at AdventHealth Winter Garden than by welcoming a new member to the community.

On Monday, Aug. 24, the first day of labor and delivery services at AdventHealth Winter Garden, Dom became the first baby born at The Baby Place.

He arrived at 8:07 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces and measuring 20 inches.

Dom's arrival marked a joyful new chapter for AdventHealth Winter Garden and for families across west Orange County.

The addition of labor and delivery services gives mothers and babies access to coordinated, whole-person maternity care supported by experienced physicians, nurses and caregivers.

For parents Jessica and Maurilio, the milestone was also a special opportunity to celebrate their newest family member with their 12-year-old son by their side, who is now a big brother.

The family was welcomed with a gift cart filled with special surprises for both parents and baby, including congratulatory gifts donated by local Winter Garden businesses Scoops, Harlow Grove and The Ancient Olive.

The community support was a fitting way to mark the opening of a service designed to support local families during one of life's most meaningful moments.

Dom's first morning at The Baby Place was a milestone for his family and for the AdventHealth Winter Garden team.

It was also a reminder of what this new chapter of care is all about: welcoming families, supporting new beginnings and helping mothers and babies feel cared for from the very start.
