Alfred University Professor of Sculpture Coral Lambert, School of Art & Design, New York State College of Ceramics, will be showing three works in the Sculpture Garden Exhibition at the Melvin Johnson Sculpture Garden at the Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua, NY.
The exhibition will run from June 22 to August 21 and is curated by Judy Barie, director of Chautauqua Visual Art Galleries. The exhibition will feature a large work by Lambert, Fall Star, alongside two new smaller works in steel and cast metal.
An internationally recognized sculptor known for her innovative work in cast metal and large-scale public sculpture, Lambert directs the National Casting Center Foundry at Alfred University. Her work explores the forces of nature and seeks to address darker issues related to earth's resources.
Lambert will be exhibiting alongside Scottish American artist Paul Higham, a pioneer of early computer sculpture combining conceptual paradigms with computational technology in his art for over 40 years. He will be showing his Data Sculptures, which are produced by Computer Numerical Control (CNC), carving, then casting in bronze and aluminum. Sean Glover, a mixed media and print artist from Boston, will also have two sculptures on view.
The galleries at Chautauqua present thoughtfully curated exhibitions in Strohl Art Center, Fowler-Kellogg Art Center, and the Melvin Johnson Sculpture Garden. These exhibitions feature a diverse range of artwork created by today's most outstanding artists. You can join for the official opening on June 22nd from 3-6pm or pop by over the summer to experience thought-provoking work and engage in meaningful conversations with fellow art enthusiasts and artists alike.
