NTCA Statement on FCC Broadband Labels Proceeding

NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association released the following statement from CEO Mike Romano, applauding the FCC for approving a Report and Order to make broadband labels more accurate and concise for consumers while reducing burdens on providers:

"Consumers deserve clear and accurate information about the broadband options available to them. But the Commission's broadband labels, while helpful, have at times confused consumers as well. I applaud the Chairman for his leadership in updating the broadband labels rules to advance the need for clear and concise information for consumers while recognizing the importance of mitigating unnecessary compliance burdens on small, rural providers with limited resources and staff. Today's action strikes this important balance, promoting enhanced transparency for consumers while providing the flexibility providers need to serve their communities efficiently."
