The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met today, March 30, 2026, with the director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center, Emir Suljagić.
They discussed the work of the Srebrenica Memorial Centre. Minister Konaković expressed his ongoing support for its activities, highlighting its crucial role in preserving the culture of memory, truth, and the fight against genocide denial.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly focusing on the concerning trend of radicalization in the political landscape. They addressed the alarming spread of false political narratives, including unfounded claims of anti-Semitism, which aim to destabilize society and undermine inter-ethnic trust.
The need to firmly oppose all forms of anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and discrimination was emphasized, alongside the importance of strengthening institutional responses and promoting values of mutual respect, tolerance, and coexistence.
It was concluded that preserving the truth, enhancing institutions, and taking united action against disinformation are essential for the stability and democratic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
