FLETC Director Meets with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp

Last week, Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) Director Benjamine C. Huffman met with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta for a meeting focused on FLETC's operations, partnerships, and footprint in Georgia.

During the meeting, Director Huffman provided a high-level overview of FLETC's mission and continued growth in federal law enforcement training. The discussion also highlighted FLETC's strong relationships with the Georgia congressional delegation, local and state partners, and the broader law enforcement community across Georgia.

"FLETC is proud to call Georgia home, and we value the strong partnerships we have built with state, local, and federal law enforcement leaders across the state," said Director Benjamine C. Huffman. "Our meeting with Governor Kemp was an important opportunity to highlight FLETC's mission, our growing training footprint, and our continued commitment to supporting the law enforcement community in Georgia and nationwide."

Director Huffman emphasized FLETC's ongoing engagement with state, local, tribal, campus, and international law enforcement partners, including regular training programs conducted throughout Georgia. The discussion also covered FLETC's expected training growth in the coming months and years.

FLETC's relationship with Glynn County was also discussed, including coordination with local government and support for the construction of a new Glynn County Fire Station near FLETC's main gate.

The meeting underscored FLETC's extensive outreach across Georgia's public safety community. Recent efforts include participation on the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Advisory Council, consultation on the Georgia Physical Abilities Test for law enforcement, support for the development of Georgia's Basic Mandate Training curriculum, collaboration with the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, and training and briefings for law enforcement associations across the state.

FLETC has also supported Georgia law enforcement agencies through consultation and training, including work with the Atlanta Police Department and delivery of the Law Enforcement Instructor Training Program for the Georgia State Patrol.

The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen FLETC's relationship with Georgia state leadership and reaffirm FLETC's commitment to supporting law enforcement training and public safety partnerships throughout the state.
