New Vice President of Land Strategy: Andy Campbell
With 18 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, Andy brings extensive background to his new role spanning across development, investment strategy, joint ventures and capital markets.
Prior to joining SRO, Andy served as Senior Director of Development at global real estate company Greystar, where he managed new development and capital markets efforts throughout the Pacific Northwest. His responsibilities included leading regional market strategy, sourcing new investment opportunities, presenting projects to a global investment committee, conducting due diligence and overseeing design and entitlement progression. He also led regional capital markets efforts, securing domestic and foreign capital for new development projects.
Before that, Andy spent eight years as a Vice President at HAL Real Estate, the U.S. arm of a large European family office. During his tenure, he helped grow the company's direct and joint venture development platform to a stabilized value of more than $1 billion across 19 investments. He oversaw complex projects involving large-scale assemblages, rezones, environmental cleanup and specialized development strategies, while structuring joint ventures and managing projects through completion.
Over the course of his time with HAL, Andy oversaw the development of more than 2,500 multifamily units and 300,000 square feet of commercial space. Several of these projects received NAIOP awards, AIA honors and other industry recognition.
Earlier in his career, Andy served as a Director at multifamily real estate developer Wood Partners, overseeing multifamily development projects in Seattle and Portland, and spent six years in land use and development consulting, advising public- and private-sector clients on large and complex master-planned projects both at private civil engineering and land development firm ESM Consulting Engineers and real estate advisory and investment firm Heartland.
Andy earned his undergraduate degree in Urban Studies and Urban Planning from the University of Washington (UW) and later returned for graduate coursework in Finance and Economics as a recipient of the William W. Philip Endowed Scholarship. He also holds Series 7 and Series 63 securities certifications, as well as state and national real estate brokerage licenses.
An active member of the commercial real estate community, Andy is member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and NAIOP Washington and has served as a development representative for the Seattle Design Review Board. He has also advised students in the Commercial Real Estate certificate program at UW and sits on Seattle's Housing Roundtable where he represents the real estate community in coordinating policy matters with the City of Seattle's Mayor and City Council.
Outside the office, Andy volunteers as an Emergency Medical Technician and ski patroller and enjoys time with his wife and two children in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, where they spend their weekends biking, skiing and climbing.
