Holiday cheer filled the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2025, as FDNY members from Engine 44/Ladder 13 teamed up with NYPD officers from the 19th Precinct to brighten the season for children and families at Ronald McDonald House New York's annual "Miracle on 73rd Street" event.
Led by Santa Claus himself, the first responders delivered holiday gifts to children battling pediatric cancer and other serious illnesses, helping create joyful moments. In a highlight of the evening, Santa was lifted high in the tower ladder to wave and greet children through the windows, drawing smiles and laughter from above.
Known as the "Miracle on 73rd Street," the annual partnership between the FDNY, the NYPD and Ronald McDonald House New York is a powerful reminder of the impact community, kindness and compassion can have-especially during the holidays.
