Public Safety (GCPD, BPD, GCSO): some roadways may be closed due to utility work or hazards, please limit travel, and adhere to driving rules when lights are not working (4-way stop rule); staffing intersections to help with traffic control; continuing to patrol neighborhoods and roadways.

As of Tuesday, these intersections are still closed:

  • Old Jesup Rd between Drew Circle and Lille Way is blocked
  • Old Jesup Rd @ Scranton Rd
  • Georgia Power will be replacing power lines across Frederica Rd at approximately 1:30p.m. today. This work will result in a temporary closure of Frederica Rd for both north and south bound traffic. This work will be in the 3100 block of Frederica, approximately 720ft north of the Frederica / Sea Island Road intersection.

Public Works: Debris removal for unincorporated Glynn County will begin Tuesday, October 7; for the City of Brunswick the same date is tentatively scheduled to begin debris removal. Only storm related debris will be collected.

County Residents are advised to gather organic-only debris - i.e. tree limbs - and place it roadside for pickup. Public Works will make two passes through the county once collection begins.

City Residents: The city expects this to be a three to four week process with two passes through the city. Pickup will include organic debris (i.e. tree limbs, leaves, etc) and storm related construction & demolition (C&D). Items cannot be co-mingled. Please keep yard debris and other items separate.

It is important that only storm related debris is eligible for removal; the debris should not be bagged and it should not be mixed with other garbage or yard waste: if you are cleaning up your yard, please separate debris into piles, no bags, only organic materials, do not block right of ways, put at curb.
