Greater Dayton RTA to provide free rides for May 5 primary

(DAYTON, OHIO) - On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the Greater Dayton RTA will offer free rides systemwide to provide access for everyone who chooses to vote in the primary election. These free rides apply to both RTA's fixed-route and paratransit services.

RTA recognizes the importance of reliable transportation on Election Day. RTA has provided free rides for all elections since 2018.

Riders are encouraged to use the Transit app, RTA's official real-time information and trip-planning app, to find the bus stop nearest to their polling location. The app is free to download and available in Google Play and the App Store. More information is available at www.iriderta.org/real-time-tracking. Riders without a smartphone can also access real-time trip-planning information through that page.

Those who need to find their polling location can do so at the Montgomery County Board of Elections website at https://lookup.boe.ohio.gov/vtrapp/montgomery/pollfinder.aspx.
