AAAID Explores Strategic Cooperation with African Development Bank Group to Support Food Security Initiatives

H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), held a meeting with H.E. Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), to discuss potential strategic cooperation in agricultural investment, sustainable development, and the support of food security initiatives, in line with the mutual interests of both parties.

During the meeting, the two sides explored opportunities for financial and development partnerships aimed at financing food production projects and enhancing agricultural value chains, alongside potential investment collaborations in key food security sectors. These initiatives are designed to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to strengthen Arab-African integration in addressing food security challenges and climate change resilience.

Dr. Obiad Al Zaabi emphasized that AAAID actively supports joint cooperation frameworks with regional and international development institutions, playing a pivotal role in creating high-impact investment opportunities in food security sectors. He noted that collaboration with AfDB is a significant step toward developing innovative financial and investment solutions to support smallholder farmers and establish sustainable agricultural infrastructure across African and Arab countries.

H.E. Dr. Sidi Ould Tah commended AAAID's pioneering initiatives in advancing Arab-African food security projects, emphasizing that AfDB is committed to expanding its institutional partnerships with regional entities, enhancing programs that enable agricultural communities to access sustainable financing, modern technologies, and climate-smart agricultural solutions. He also stressed the Bank's dedication to accelerating agricultural transformation in collaboration with Arab and regional institutions, supporting inclusive and sustainable growth across the African continent.

This meeting is part of AAAID's ongoing efforts to broaden its network of partnerships with regional and international financial institutions, diversify funding sources, and strengthen the sustainability of agricultural projects in the region, thereby contributing to regional economic growth and improving the quality of life of local populations.
