Edinburg hosting Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros Celebration

Edinburg, TX - The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library will host its annual Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day) on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1906 South Closner Blvd. This free, family-friendly event spotlights literacy and celebrates young readers in the community.

Attendees can enjoy an evening of:

  • Free games, arts & crafts, and live performances
  • Complimentary books for children and adults (while supplies last)
  • Interactive activities hosted by the Edinburg Fire Department, Boys & Girls Club of Edinburg, Edinburg Police Department, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, UTRGV's BeChildLab, Estero Llano State Park, and local children's authors

The South Texas Literacy Coalition will join the festivities, distributing additional free books and promoting lifelong learning.

"The Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros celebration underscores our commitment to fostering a love of reading across all ages," said Library Director Letty Leija. "We invite every family in Edinburg and the surrounding area to join us for an evening of fun and discovery."
