Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Jared Huffman (CA-02) issued the following statement regarding the release of the remaining hostages:
"I'm heartened and relieved by the release of the final living hostages and by the sight of their joyous homecoming. This very welcome breakthrough was long overdue. What happens next is still unfolding and will require tremendous effort by all parties to establish a durable resolution to the conflict and a lasting peace -- one that ensures an end to Hamas's reign of terror, massive humanitarian aid, security for Israel, and peaceful self-determination for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. None of this is simple and there will surely be setbacks and challenges, but I urge all parties to keep working toward that end."
