Moldovan Government Approves Launch of Negotiations with the Sultanate of Oman on Reciprocal Visa Exemption for Diplomatic, Service, and Special Passports

14 January 2026, at Chișinău - During the Government meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft Government Decision to initiate negotiations and approve the signing of an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the Sultanate of Oman on reciprocal visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports.

The relevance of this project is driven by the shared interest of Moldova and Oman in promoting, diversifying, and developing friendly bilateral relations by facilitating official travel for the targeted categories of persons, in accordance with the national legislation of both parties and regulations concerning public order and national security.

Through this agreement, both states will reaffirm their intention to create favorable conditions for strengthening political dialogue and developing economic, trade, scientific-technical, and cultural relations, by facilitating direct contacts between decision-makers of the two countries.
