Soft-Open Monday, March 16

March 15, 2026 - ROCHESTER, MINN - Due to the significant snowfall from today's winter storm and additional snow and potential blizzard conditions expected overnight, the City of Rochester will implement a soft opening for City buildings tomorrow morning. City services will be available virtually via phone and online platforms beginning at 8 a.m., and City facilities are expected to open at 10 a.m.

City crews will continue snow removal operations overnight and into the morning hours. While main routes are being cleared, travel conditions are expected to remain difficult during the morning commute as crews continue widening streets, clearing intersections, plowing neighborhood streets and addressing accumulated snow.

City facilities will open later than usual to allow additional time for road clearing and to reduce traffic congestion during peak snow removal operations.

Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time in the morning. Drivers should anticipate snow-covered or narrowed roadways in some areas and use caution when traveling.

Snow removal operations remain a top priority and crews will continue working around the clock to restore safe travel conditions.

Residents are reminded to follow seasonal parking requirements. Vehicles parked in the street should be moved to the even side of the street before 2 a.m. on Monday, March 16. If possible, vehicles should be moved entirely off the street to further assist with snow clearing. Additionally, trash and recycling bins set out for collection should be placed in the driveway apron or on the boulevard, not in the roadway.

Updates will be shared through the City of Rochester website and official social media channels.
